A €2.625m Carrera GT—and the paperwork behind the price
Paris adds a fresh sale. Using it as a valuation benchmark takes more than reading the headline.
By Supercar Collectible ·
Artcurial reports €2,625,300 for lot 55, a Porsche Carrera GT sold in Paris on 25 October. The catalogue describes 7,300 km, one owner and substantial recent servicing. Those attributes matter when choosing comparable cars.
The catalogue needs a closer reading
The heading calls it a 2006 car, while the description dates production to November 2004 and purchase to late 2005. These may describe different milestones, but the distinction needs documentary confirmation. A dashboard number should also remain separate from the chassis identifier.
SCC interpretation
Our view is that a reported sale can be useful evidence before every detail is settled, provided its limits remain visible. A single carefully presented car cannot establish a model-wide increase, nor does it measure how easily ordinary examples sell.
For a defensible comparison, reconcile the vehicle documents, condition and service history first. Then compare prices on the same basis. Buyer’s premium, tax and currency conversion can change the apparent gap between two results. An estimate and a buyer’s final payment answer different questions.
For collectors considering a purchase, the practical lesson is to ask which differences between the cars explain the price—and which still require evidence.
Reporting notes
By Supercar Collectible. Published 30 October 2026. The amount is Artcurial’s published sale result; SCC has not verified the buyer’s invoice or independently inspected the car. The sale conditions specify tiered buyer’s commission plus applicable VAT and possible additional charges. We therefore make no claim that the hammer price exceeded the estimate.
